During their hugely successful 2000 season, Julian and his co-driver, Nigel Madigan  (PICTURED BELOW LEFT), campaigned in a Race Engineering Vauxhall Nova SRI 1300cc -  this extremely tough little car was the epitome of reliability and proved to be the ideal tool for Julian and Nigel's first full season of rallying. However, being tantalisingly close to winning several other championships whilst competing against larger and far more powerful cars - Julian realised that with a little more power and perhaps a  more modern chassis -
then the sky truly would be the limit for the 2001 season.

The replacement for the hardy Nova SRI was never going to be an easy choice - after considerable deliberation and with the support of his Team -  Julian settled on a nearly new Peugeot 106 CUP car. Designed and built by the Peugeot factory rally team for the 106 CUP RALLY SERIES - Julian's car has a 1600cc engine and the latest in rally suspension and brake technology. Whilst the Peugeot factory are reluctant to divulge the bhp rating of the CUP cars - Julian reports that the car is "superbly balanced and very rapid".
